A collaboration with the HB Williams Family Trusts and Manaiakalani Education Trust to provide the children of Tairāwhiti with equitable access to the affordances of digital technologies for learning.
This project involved bringing together a cluster of 16 schools over six years, to increase teachers’ digital capabilities and confidence, enhance digital infrastructure in schools and deliver affordable, robust devices to families across the region.
In my role as program manager with Connext Trust, we managed the program design and implementation of the largest-scale roll-out of the Bikes in Schools programme in New Zealand.
This project delivered significant cycling infrastructure (kilometres of bike tracks, bikes, helmets, secure storage and cycle education) to more than 15 schools and kura across the region to encourage and enable more young people to bike more often.
A collaboration between the Connext Trust, House of Science New Zealand, and local schools, to foster scientific literacy in young people across Tairāwhiti.
This project involved completing due diligence, designing a sustainable business model, securing seed funding to enable start-up, stakeholder management and oversight of the local operation. The result was the Tairāwhiti branch of the House of Science which provided quality scientific resources and professional development for teachers, to promote positive engagement with science and offer r visible, hands-on learning experiences to spark an interest in science.
